A Note from Fr. Chris Sherren … This week we say goodbye to Meghan after six years of service to our parish. She has given generously of her time and talent, going over and above what was required of her job. We thank her for her time with us and wish her well in her studies.

St. Paul’s C.W.L. News … there will be an evening of reflection at the Marguerite Bourgeoys Centre, Wednesday, Sept. 3rd, 7:00pm with facilitator Sr. Donna. Refreshments will be served and all ladies of the parish are welcome!
As well, the C.W.L. Potluck & Meeting will take place at the Parish Centre, Monday, Sept. 8th beginning at 6:00pm. All Catholic women of the Parish are invited to attend.
Religious Education … Catechism registration is here! The registration fee has been increased to $15 per child but we are limiting the cost to $50 for families with 4 children. Registration dates: Grade 1 … Tuesday, Sept. 2nd, 6pm in the boardroom; Grades 2-8 … Wednesday, Sept. 3rd, 6pm in the main hall. Registration forms are online – please have two copies per child.
The first day of catechism is Sunday, Oct. 19th. Teachers needed for Grade 4 & 7 extra parents for Grades 6 and 8 to assist the current parent teaching the class. There are many other areas for you to participate including guiding children to their proper class … please consider helping to make the program run smoothly.
Thursday, Sept. 25th, 7:00pm, at the Parish Centre, meet Donna Glaser, representative from RCL Benziger. She will explain the new program “Be My Disciples” that the Diocese has implemented. It will certainly be worthwhile to meet other people from across the Island who are learning this program and teaching it in their Parish.
Music Ministry at St. Paul’s … everyone interested in music ministry, as well as those already involved in music ministry, are invited to a meeting in the church on Wednesday, September 3rd at 7:30pm. We will talk about the future of music ministry at our parish. If you sing, play guitar, play piano, or play pipe organ or maybe play something else please consider joining us. If you are interested but can’t make the meeting, let Fr. Chris know.
