Another Very Generous Donation … We have received another anonymous $10,000 donation for our sound system project. The parish thanks you for your generosity. Since the donor wishes to remain anonymous, let us express our gratitude by offering prayers.
Update on Sound System … We’re a little later than we expected in updating you on the sound system project but we wanted to make sure we did our homework before making a decision on a project of this size. Since announcing the project, we have received a lot of positive feedback from the parishioners. Not only has the feedback encouraged us to go forward but we also received two $10,000 donations to help us and a third donor who has pledged a significant amount as well. We can now announce that we have accepted one of the proposals. Orders are being placed this week but we don’t expect to have the system fully installed and functioning until sometime in January.
Tech Ministry … with the new system confirmed, we are now looking for volunteers for a new “tech ministry” or “A/V Ministry” (we’ll pick a name later). Our aim is to have two operators present at each of our weekend Masses. One operator will control the projection screens and the other will control the soundboard. Training will be provided. We would like to recruit at least 20 people for this ministry so we have enough operators to provide for all our weekend Masses. We cannot begin training the sound operators until the equipment arrives but we can begin providing training to the projection screen operators now. We are opening this ministry to adults and youth alike. If you are a youth and are comfortable with technology, you’re more than welcome to join the team and receive training and experience using professional a/v equipment. Anyone who is interested please contact Fr. Chris.
