Book of Gospels … while the Book of Gospels leads us into our celebration of the Eucharist, it is not carried out at the end. It remains at the ambo or at a place of respect as we leave the church. Together, we are the means through whom the Good News of Jesus Christ is borne into the world. How wonderful for us to be reminded of that when we are sent forth with the commission, “Go, and proclaim the Gospel of the Lord”, and we accept the mandate with our response, “Thanks be to God!”
