Annual Parish Financial Meeting … will take place on Thursday, May 5th at 7:30pm in the parish hall (following the 7pm Mass).  All are most welcome!

The Catholic Women’s League of Canada … calls all people of faith to join nationwide in 12 Hours of Prayer for Palliative Care on Wednesday, May 4th  , designed to take place during the National Hospice Palliative Care Week as a profound witness to the sanctity of human life. All parishioners, family and friends are invited to join St. Paul’s CWL Council in prayer and solidarity, Wed, May 4th in our Church, 7:00am to7:00pm.  During this time,  the Blessed Sacrament will be exposed. There is a chart in the entrance of the church for anyone to sign up for a certain hour or two. We encourage groups and families if possible. Those unable to attend are encouraged to join in prayerful support. There is a petition (available at the Church side entrance to the Parish Center) asking the House of Commons in Parliament assembled to specifically identify palliative care as a defined medical service covered under the Canada Health Act.  Pope Francis reminds us …  “ Let us not underestimate the power of so many voices united in prayer.” We pray you will join us on May 4th.

Working against suicide: The Government of Canada has introduced Bill C-14, An Act to amend the Criminal Code and to make related amendments to other Acts (medical      assistance in dying). This proposed legislation, which responds to the decision of the Supreme Court of Canada in early 2015, will make euthanasia and assisted suicide legal and more accessible in our entire country. The Supreme Court decision and current   legislative efforts are in stark contradiction to the endeavours of individuals, families and communities to counteract the dangers and sufferings of suicide.  To express your concerns about the legislation … www.canadiansforconscience.ca/

Prayers for Elena Monzano … a few years ago, when Fr. Brad Sweet was here, a number of parishioners had made donations to help the Monzano Family in Arica, Chile in fixing the roof of their house.  Fr. Brad got word that Mr. Monzano died a couple of years ago and that his wife Elena Monzano died last week of a stroke at age 94 and so Fr. Brad wished to update our Parish on this.  Asking for prayers for the Monzano Family as they deal with this loss.  Blessings!

St. Vincent de Paul  … Our volunteers gave out approx.. 140 bags of groceries in March to those in need. This would not be possible without your help –thank you once again for your generosity! Lectors’ Workshop… the Diocesan Liturgical Commission will be offering a workshop for lectors … St. Paul’s Centre on Monday, April 18th, 7:00 – 8:15pm.  Together we will explore hints for preparing/proclaiming and discover the primacy of the Sunday Gospel and its relationship to the other Readings.  All interested are most welcome.

is Sunday, April 3rd;             
Grade 2 Children will continue classes for the month of April, 11:30am – 12:30pm.  There will be NO Thursday evening Mass for First Communion children on April 14th.  First Communion will be Sunday, May 1st, 10:30am Mass;   Confirmation Retreat will be Saturday, April 30th.  Location is the Miscouche Rec Centre by Miscouche school.  Time and fee has not been determined.  Confirmation is scheduled for Saturday, May 7th with a reception to follow.

Seniors’ Reflection … Marguerite Bourgeoys Centre, Tuesday, April 5th, 10:30am – 1:00pm.  “Women in the Gospels” by Florence Arsenault.  Donation toward lunch.

St. Paul’s CWL … monthly meeting, Monday April 4th, 7:00pm, Centre main hall preceded by executive meeting at 6 pm, Boardroom.  We encourage all executive members to be present for the Affirmation of the Executive.  Members planning to go to the Provincial  Convention in Ch’Town,   May 6th & 7th need to have their $20.00 passed in for the banquet. Registration is paid by Council.  We will be doing our letter writing campaign to Government Officials on the issues Physician Assisted Suicide/Abortion. Evenings of Recollection – meditations preached by a priest of Opus Dei, a personal prelature of the Catholic Church. Men’s (Mon April 11 @7pm) – Women’s (Tue April 12 @7pm) at St. Paul’s, aiming to assist the individual to relate his/her family life, work and social commitments more fully to their relationship with God.
