Religious Education News  …  

Confirmation class will have Reconciliation during catechism class Sunday Nov 13.

Children registered in grade 4 will receive their bible on Sunday Nov 13 after the final blessing 10:30 am mass.

The grade 3 Sunday Missal will be given to the students Sunday Nov 20 following the final blessing 10:30 am mass.

Grade 7 parents still needed for teaching the second half of the yea; one unit is six lessons! If you have a love for Christ and desire to share that is all you need to begin. You grow as the children grow!   Theresa’s new office hours Thursdays and Fridays, 9:00am – 4:30pm.

Prayer Petitions … please feel free to place your prayer intentions in the locked box at the front of the Church, located under the Image of Mary & baby Jesus.  These prayer requests will not be seen by anyone.  They will be offered up in daily prayer when we gather for the Rosary before daily Mass and the Divine Mercy Chaplet after daily Mass.  All are welcome to join us in prayer.

–  has an interest in becoming Catholic?   – was baptized Catholic as a child, but has not celebrated the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist?  We are starting sessions on the teachings and experience of Church to prepare individuals to celebrate the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist during the Easter season. Info from  Fr. Chris through the parish office. Currently we have 3 people preparing to receive these sacraments next Easter, please keep them in your prayers.

 Fall Action Workshop of Dev. and Peace … 2:00 – 4:00pm, Sunday, Oct. 30th, St. Pius X Church, Parkdale.  Rebecca Rathbone, Atlantic Region Animator will speak on “At the Heart of the Matter” campaign on peace in Syria.

Esther Finkle Walk for Kids … Sunday, Oct. 16th, with registration at Miscouche Fire Hall, 1:30pm, walk at 2pm.  Your support provides children the opportunity to getting their 1st pair of skates, music, art or dance lessons, etc.  Info from Bernice 436-4552 or Julia 436-3278.

Thinking of You Packages … for patients at Prince County Hospital who arrive without items or cannot afford them.  It is suggested that items be put in a bag or box and delivered to the Volunteer Front Desk at the Hospital.  For children … puzzle type books, sticker and game books, pajamas, sleepers, socks, slippers, small blanket & toys (no plush type).  For adults … deodorant, combs, shampoo, socks, slippers, shaving cream for men, non-scented lip balm, pajamas (pants or nighties).  More info at 902-438-4359.

St. Dunstan’s University Lecture Series …reserve Thursday, Oct. 27th for the annual Institute for Christianity and Culture Faith and Knowledge Lecture series, Ch’Town Rural High School cafeteria, 7:00pm.  Theme:  “What is involved in assisted dying?  Ethical issues for patients and health care workers in light of Christian teaching.”

Chair Fit Exercises to keep Seniors active and mobile … while sitting in a chair, using light weights, bands, etc. to stretch and strengthen muscles, etc. Monday mornings, 9:30am – 10:30am at Iron Haven Gym, Water St. W. (back of the building) with cost of $3.

Coats for Kids Drive … providing children and loved ones with coats, boots, hats, mittens, etc.   Drop off at Township Chevrolet, Sun & Suds or Boys & Girls Club until Nov. 4th with the items being given out Nov. 5th, Boys & Girls Club.
