Knights of Columbus … meets on the third Thursday of month at 8 pm in K of C Room, 2nd Floor, Parish Centre.  Please join the K of C on the first Saturday evening of each month at 6:30 pm (prior to Sat. 7 pm mass) for rosary in preparation for the 100th anniversary of Our Lady’s appearance at Fatima. 

 

St. Paul’s CWL … Provincial CWL convention May 6 & 7th to be held at Rodd Royalty.  All CWL members invited. Registration paid by Council but $20 banquet fee needs to be paid to June Gallant (436-5783) by April 20th.  Agenda posted on Notre Dame St. Church entrance door.

 

Religious Education News …                                                      Grade 2 Children will continue classes for the month of April, 11:30am – 12:30pm.  First Communion will be Sunday, May 1st, 10:30am Mass;   Confirmation Retreat will be Saturday, April 30th.  Location is the Miscouche Rec Centre by Miscouche School.  Confirmation: Group Mass, April 24 at 10:30, Rehearsal Tues., May 3at 6 pm . Confirmation on Saturday, May 7th at 7 pm mass with a reception to follow.

Those who have Teacher Manuals please return them to the Parish Office asap.

 

St. Paul’s Youth Group … meets Wednesdays, 7pm – 9pm, 2nd level of Parish Centre.  All youth, Grades 7 & up are welcome to attend.  Come and see.

St. Vincent de Paul  … Our volunteers gave out approx.. 140 bags of groceries in March to those in need. This would not be possible without your help –thank you once again for your generosity! Suggested food items: pasta sauce, cheese whiz, snacks for children’s school lunches such as crackers/cheese, pudding cups, fruit juice boxes, etc. 

 

Vacation Bible Camp … the SDU Board of Governors are accepting applications from students (18&over)  interested in working as camp counsellors,  providing 8 weeks of work, July 4-Aug 26th .  Application form:  sdu@eastlink.ca or  902-393-3441 or at the UPEI Chaplaincy Center.

 

SDU Scholarships and Bursaries …  deadline to apply ($5,000.00 per year, renewable) is April 15.  The SDU Board of Governors Award ($1,000.00 non-renewable, minimum of one per high school) application deadline is May 1. Lectors’ Workshop… the Diocesan Liturgical Commission will be offering a workshop for lectors … St. Paul’s Centre on Monday, April 18th, 7:00 – 8:15pm.  Together we will explore hints for preparing/proclaiming and discover the primacy of the Sunday Gospel and its relationship to the other Readings.  All interested are most welcome.

P.E.I. Celebrate Life Week … April 17-23 a week to celebrate & be thankful for the gift of life with Sunday, April 17 designated as LIFE SUNDAY. Please set aside time daily to pray specifically for human beings whose lives are not deemed worthy of respect & protection in our province & country: the pre-born, handicapped, sick & elderly. Pray for Godly wisdom for our Government leaders as they make decisions in this regard.
