Question of the week …
If a baby dies and goes to heaven, does the baby stay a baby or grow older and if a person dies old, do they remain old forever in heaven? When we die and go to heaven, what will we do all day? Answers to both of these questions are getting into the realm of speculation. The Scriptures don’t give us much detail. The first question has to do with the resurrected body. We generally look to the body of Christ after his resurrection for some clues but that doesn’t really answer the question of aging in heaven. Likewise with the question about how we spend our time. We certainly talk about knowing God in heaven, about worshiping him in heaven, but we also talk about a new heaven and a new earth in the future. What does that look like? We don’t really have much information. Both of these questions are interesting to speculate about but until we get there we’re not going to know for sure and unfortunately the bulletin doesn’t lend itself well to speculative theology. Still, I wanted to acknowledge the questions before moving on to the next set of questions that came in.
St. Paul’s Cemetery Sunday Mass … at the cemetery (weather permitting) on Sunday, August 23rd, 11:00am. Please bring your own chair. Should we have inclement weather, the Mass will be in the Church.
