Looking for Altar Servers … looking for more ways to get young people involved and so putting this call out for more altar servers. Children should be in grade 4 and have received First Communion. If your child is interested, please call or email the parish with your contact info& we will let you know when the training session will be held.
Christmas Adopt a Family at St. Paul’s … in the past, this has been coordinated by St. Vincent de Paul. This year, rather than doing that, we will be making a monetary donation to the Annual Kin Christmas Appeal. Parishioners who would like to continue to adopt families, by purchasing gifts, can continue to do so by calling Sue at 902-303-0135 – Kin Christmas Appeal Co-Chair. Those wishing to make a monetary donation to help at Christmas can do so by giving directly to St. Vincent de Paul indicating “Christmas Fund” therefore ensuring you receive a tax receipt. The monetary donations will be officially presented at the Kin Christmas Appeal on East Link on December 8th.
Religious Education News … Thank you to all parishioners who have become prayer partners to the Confirmation candidates. Theresa has been asked to tell prayer partners, if you would like to correspond with your candidate whether it is a card or note bring it to the office; Beth and Theresa will be able to pass it on to the Confirmation candidate. Your continued prayers will be much appreciated throughout this year of preparation.
Info Needed re 2015 Donation Packets, etc. … should you have changed address in the last year (and have not already notified us) or should you wish to have donation envelopes for 2015, please call the Parish office or come in to see us as we soon will be labelling the packets for the year 2015.

St. Paul’s CWL … Members are asked to donate $5 for the money tree for the Christmas Lottery, which starts next week. Money may be placed in an envelope “CWL” and put in with collection.

Lecture Series … Michael Frost presents “True Acceptance“, Parish Centre, 7:00pm on Sunday, Nov. 23rd . Many people have a fear of not being accepted by others. “Wake Up the World” … inaugural ceremony for the “Year of Consecrated Life” begins at 6:30pm, Sunday, Nov. 30th with Solemn Evening Prayer, St. Dunstan’s Basilica. The hymn, “Wake up the World with Dawning Joy” , based on the words of Pope Francis, will be introduced.
Catholic Family Services Bureau News … this Bureau has been supporting Island families for 83 years. A special collection to support the work of the Bureau will be taken at all Masses the weekend of November 22-23rd . Please consider helping Island families by supporting this special collection.
